Password Generator
A password generator creates strong, random passwords that are far harder to guess or crack than anything a person invents. FreeToolsKit's generator uses your browser's cryptographic random number generator — the same class of randomness operating systems rely on. Every password is created locally on your device and is never transmitted or stored.

Key takeaways
- Passwords are generated with crypto.getRandomValues, the browser's cryptographically secure random source.
- Length is adjustable from 4 to 64 characters, with toggles for uppercase, lowercase, digits and symbols.
- The strength meter estimates entropy in bits and labels passwords Weak, Fair, Strong or Very strong.
- Generated passwords exist only in your browser tab — nothing is logged, sent or saved.
How do you generate a strong password?
- Set the password length with the slider — 16 characters or more is a good default.
- Choose which character types to include; leave all four on for maximum strength.
- Turn on “exclude ambiguous characters” if you will ever type the password by hand.
- Read the strength meter and aim for Strong or Very strong.
- Press the copy button and paste the password straight into your password manager or sign-up form.
What is the Password Generator used for?
- Creating a unique password for a new online account instead of reusing an old one.
- Replacing a weak or leaked password after a data-breach notification.
- Generating a long master password for a password manager.
- Setting a random Wi-Fi password that guests cannot guess.
- Producing temporary credentials for a shared service or test account.
Frequently asked questions
Are the passwords really random?
Yes. Characters are picked with crypto.getRandomValues, a cryptographically secure random number generator built into every modern browser — not the predictable Math.random function.
What makes a password “Very strong” here?
The meter estimates entropy — roughly, how many guesses an attacker would need. It combines password length with the size of the character set you enabled. Around 80 bits or more is labelled Very strong.
Do you store or see my generated passwords?
No. Generation happens entirely in your browser. The password is never sent to a server, logged or stored anywhere — if you close the tab without copying it, it is gone.
How long should my password be?
For most accounts, 16 characters with all character types enabled is an excellent balance. Length matters more than clever substitutions — a longer password beats a short complex one.
